At this time, there are no live televised Portugal Cup events but we show you a history with the TV guide of the last broadcast seen on television.

We will update this Portugal Cup agenda on TV when we receive confirmation from official media of the next live televised events of Portugal Cup.

Since the beginning of this website, 24 live televised events have been published.

The first event published was on Sunday, May 22, 2016 and the channel that broadcast Portugal Cup matches the most times was Fubo Sports with a total of 13.

The Copa de Portugal is the most important single elimination tournament in the country. It was founded in 1921 and replaced the Taça do Império , which had previously been played since 1918. The competition was organized by the S.C. Empire. The Portuguese Football Federation does not grant validity to the titles of those three editions (all won by Benfica).

The number of participants has varied year after year, but it is always higher than 128 teams. The first round is made up of the Portugal Championship clubs (third category) and the best from each of the country's districts. Those of the LigaPro enter into action in the second round. The Liga NOS teams begin to play in the third round. Subsidiaries are not allowed access. The pairings of the first rounds serve geographical criteria. All the heats up to the final are resolved to a single match. The champion qualifies for the Europa League . If you have previously managed to access the Champions League, the place goes to the runner-up. In addition, it also disputes the Portuguese Super Cup .

The final of the Portuguese Cup has been held, with few exceptions, since 1946 at the Estádio Nacional de Portugal . Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, as sanitary conditions in the venue could not be guaranteed, the title match has moved to the Estadio Cidade de Coimbra .

In 2021, it is broadcast in the country through RTP1 (free) and Sport TV (pay) . For abroad it is available through RTP Internacional and RTP Africa , as well as in many channels in other countries around the world. Channel 11 also televises some of the meetings of the event that have less interest.

Throughout history, more than ten teams have managed to lift the trophy of Portuguese Cup champion . Only three have done it more than a dozen times: Benfica, FC Porto and Sporting CP . They are also the three clubs that have lost the final and have been runners-up in the tournament on a greater number of occasions.

The 2020 final was scheduled for May 24, but ended up being played on August 1 without fans in the stands. FC Porto beat Benfica 1-2 thanks to two goals from Mbemba . The team coached by Sérgio Conceição was from minute 38 with one less player due to the expulsion of Luis Díaz. It was the first Portuguese Cup title for the Dragões since 2011.
